Health and Wellness
At the Health and Wellness area, health professionals will provide screening and health education to address health disparities which affect the African American community in greater numbers, such as heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, obesity, infant mortality, chronic respiratory disease and others. Screenings will be provided between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

2016 Speaker: Victoria Proctor
Victoria Proctor, MA, BSN, LMT, CHHC is a Master’s prepared Exercise Physiologist, certified holistic health consultant with over 25 years in the health and wellness industry. She is the owner of Victoria’s Touch a Life aka VITAL. VITAL uses a Mind-Body Medicine approach to encourage Holistic Health, Spiritual Wellness, and Health Education for its clients.
She also serves as the Integrative Medicine nurse leader for the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute’s inpatient population. She has worked as a research nurse and clinical instructor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and as an adjunct faculty for the Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s Food as Medicine (FAM) programs. As a holistic health, wellness and medical professional, she is an advocate for women and children, encouraging them to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
She is a compassionate speaker who delivers captivating presentations to help women understand and embrace their own health, wellness, and spirituality. Victoria is a three time nominated “most outstanding runner,” a nine time All-American track star, NCAA Division III National Champion and record setter who has been inducted into Frostburg State’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Victoria is presently a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and her specialty is Family Nurse Practitioner.
