African American Cultural Festival

Each year scholarships are awarded to high school students pursuing careers in business, science, education and the arts. Students are to have good academic credentials, as well as be significantly involved in their communities through public service. No student is denied access to the process because of race, sex or religion. However, children of Board members are not eligible.

Awards up to $1,500.00

General Criteria

  • 1. Must be a student of a Baltimore County Public High School
  • 2. A cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  • 3. Entering college (two or 4 year), trade or vocational school Fall 2017
  • 4. Must demonstrate a commitment to volunteer and community Involvement
  • 5. Incomplete and inaccurate applications will not be considered


Packet Must Include

  • 1. Complete Application (save application to your computer to type in, or print and fill out)
  • 2. Copy of combined SAT Scores
  • 3. Official copy of high school transcript
  • 4. Signed authorization allowing scholarship committee to obtain updated GPA
  • 5. Copy of acceptance letter from College or University, trade or vocational school
  • 6. Two Letters of Recommendation - (one must verify volunteer or community service)
